Burchard Franklin "Burch" McAllister, 85, of Lovell, Maine, died Nov. 25, 2005, at Bridgton Health Care. Burch was born in Lovell and was a lifelong resident. He was the son of Ralph and Gertrude (McKeen) McAllister. Burch worked for Carl Brown and for C.N. Brown Lumber Mill in the maintenance department.He liked to hunt, fish and work on his old cars. He was a tinkerer and could fix or build anything. He also enjoyed visits from his grandson Erwin McAllister Jr.He was predeceased by his wife, Ruby (Hewey) McAllister, two sons, Erland McAllister and Errol McAllister, and a daughter, Maxine Hewey. He is survived by a son Erwin B. McAllister Sr. and his wife Barbara of Lovell, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.A private service will be held at the convenience of the family, burial will be in #4 Cemetery, Lovell.Donations may be made in memory of Burchard to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 222 Auburn St., Portland, ME 04103.Arrangements are with Wood Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fryeburg.
