Every day, The American Red Cross Blood Services New England Region provides blood and blood products for patients in more than 170 hospitals in our four state region. Regardless of weather conditions or holiday/vacation periods, over 1,200 blood donations are required every day to assure that the needs of these patients will be met.Consider yourself asked! Please give blood. Studies have shown that people say theyve never given blood because theyre never been asked. This summer, the American Red Cross is extending this invitation to everyone eligible to give blood throughout New England. By answering our call to donate during the year, not only have you helped us maintain an adequate blood supply, your gift of life has provided another chance for the patients in need.As a special thank you, all volunteer donors who donate at the Conway Village Fire Department in Conway on Thursday, August 12, from 1 to 6 p.m., will be presented with a Red Cross beach towel and an admission ticket to Story Land, co-sponsor with Hannaford of North Conway. For more information on giving blood, please call the Red Cross Center at 1-800-Give-Life or the Mount Washington Valley Chapter at 356-2726. Positive valid identification, such as a Red Cross donor card or drivers license, is now required.
