Abbey Heimlich inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta

Lyndon Center, VT- Abbey Heimlich of Chocorua was inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta, a first year honor society, during an evening ceremony at Lyndon State College March 30. Heimlich, the daughter of Peter and Melinda Heimlich also of Chocorua, is majoring in psychology. Alpha Lambda Delta was founded in 1924 to recognize academic excellence among frist-year women and became co-educational in the 1970's. Today, ALD has ove 245 chapters and has initiated over 700,000 students. To be eligible for induction, students must have a 3.5 grade point average in their first semester of college. The Lyndon State College chapter of the ALD, the first and onloy chapter in the state of Vermont, was founded in 2004.Lyndon State is a small college located in northeastern Vermont, offering liberal arts and professional programs that integrate theory and practice to prepare graduates competent in their field, equipped to respond to the challenges of an evolving soceity and able to advance the quality of life in a diverse global community.
