There’s plenty of buzz around artificial intelligence lately and rightfully so, but rest easy, everything I write is a product of old-fashioned research and my fertile mind.

Beyond the AI controversy and disruption the tech is causing, good and bad, an underlying issue is the enormous amount of energy these data centers require. AI data center energy demand is expected to nearly triple by the end of the decade, according to TechCrunch in addition to demand from sectors like manufacturing, HVAC and transportation.
