Group of residents forming community organization to revive village landmark

FREEDOM — A group of residents has gotten together in Freedom to reopen the Freedom Village Store, with the goal of attracting more local business and providing a gathering place for the community. Open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday, the store sells the antiques, newspapers, greeting cards, and the work of local artists, musicians and writers on consignment. There are also a half a dozen tables set up where people can sit and relax, read the newspapers or chat over a cup of coffee.
