AT THE PODIUM — Tyshawn Roberts and Giavanna Brunetti, student speakers for the Adult Education Class of 2026.

Lake Region and Fryeburg Area Adult Education is proud to announce that the class of 2026 included 29 students who graduated with their Adult High School Diploma or HiSET. The commencement event took place at Lake Region High School auditorium on Wednesday, June 10.

This year’s guest speaker was former adult education director Madelyn Litz, who spoke to the audience about the importance of adult education in the community. Student speakers, Tyshawn Roberts and Giavanna Brunetti spoke about the importance of giving yourself better opportunities to grow and learn and that it is never too late to work toward your educational goals. Brunetti said to the audience that, “Adult education taught us that there is no pathway that is universal. Don’t be afraid to BEGIN again. Although all of us have various reasons as to why we started the journey to grow as individuals, we should all be thankful for our new beginnings.”
