To The Editor:

I’m sure Rev. Robert Plaisted, in his July 2 column on celebrating the Fourth of July, knows his Bible, but I’m not so sure he knows about American history. It appears to me that his hatred for things Trump and MAGA have led him astray as he tries to use biblical teachings to damn America, Trump and anyone who tries to get ahead in the world. They can’t get ahead and be faithful to God according to the Rev. He sounds like a Dark Ages cleric that wouldn’t handle money because it was dirty; let the Jews, who were money changers handle the money.
