To The Editor:

The government is shut down, but why? The Republicans have passed a clean bill in the House, meaning an extension of government policies and spending the way the Democrats wanted up until now. This clean bill would only extend funding for approximately seven weeks and would allow Congress to follow regular order and debate among Democrats and Republicans about budget items, instead of trying to bully into the CR items up for debate.
