ALTAN appears on the Stone Mountain Arts Center stage this Saturday, March 21 at 8 p.m.

 

BROWNFIELD — Fans of traditional Irish music are in for a special night when legendary Irish band Altan takes the stage at the beautiful Stone Mountain Arts Center in Brownfield this Saturday, March 21 at 8 p.m.

For more than three decades, Altan has been one of the most influential and beloved groups in Irish traditional music. Formed in County Donegal and led by the luminous voice and fiddle playing of Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh, the band has carried the rich musical heritage of northwest Ireland to audiences around the world. Their sound blends fiery fiddles, lilting flutes, driving bouzouki and guitar, and soaring Gaelic and English vocals that capture both the joy and the soul of Ireland’s musical tradition.
