BERLIN — The Berlin Mountaineers girls basketball team had a mixed week, dropping a tough home contest to White Mountains on Tuesday before bouncing back with a dominant road win over Interlakes on Friday. The Mountaineers now sit at 11-5 with just two regular-season games remaining.
On Tuesday, Feb. 4, Berlin faced White Mountains. In a low-scoring first half, both teams struggled to find the basket, entering halftime tied at 13. Kennah Scott led Berlin with six first-half points, while Caitlin Kelley added five. White Mountains pulled ahead in the third quarter, building a six-point lead before Scott knocked down a three-pointer in the final seconds to cut the deficit to three. However, the visiting Spartans found their rhythm in the fourth, capitalizing on perimeter shots and going a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line to secure the victory.
