Zack Bishop, of Colebrook, stands by his 1948 Cessna 170

In the pioneering days of aviation, the Milan airport was located in what is now flat blueberry fields adjacent to rt.16 in the Pontook section of the Androscoggin River. The area's earliest aviators learned to land and take off there. Zack Bishop, of Colebrook, has re-enacted those maneuvers in his 1948 Cessna 170. (CLAUDE PIGEON PHOTO AND CAPTION)
