Hello fellow Berlinites. As I continue with another story of the past mayors of this city, our fourteenth top city official was a well-known member of our local paper mills. His name was William E. Corbin and he served from 1931 to 1932.

The story of Mr. Corbin's rise to fame had the elements of romance. He was a native of Charlestown, New Hampshire born on March 15, 1869 and when a mere lad began drudging labor on a farm to provide a livelihood. He always bragged about his ability to drive an ox team and tend to the many duties required of the laborer in the field of agriculture.
