BERLIN — Despite the ordinance and violation notices being handed out earlier to some households in a mapped area monitored by city hall, trash containers and bags were outside several upper Main Street residences and businesses on Sunday night, June 14.

That could change if a recommendation to the city council by City Manager Phillip L. Warren Jr. is approved by the council at a future meeting. The pickup days for trash or solid waste could be changed to three days a week, a plan aimed at reducing litter, domestic and wildlife destruction and ordinance violations when residents or businesses put their trash out too early in neighborhoods throughout the city.
