Up here in the North Country, we have hundreds of thousands of acres of beautiful, pristine land — woods, mountains, streams, ponds and lakes — and we each do our little part to live with the land and ensure that locals have access for recreation and work. Locals work together to keep the land healthy, and there is a general sense of community that keeps it open for use.

Recently, the Chapel Hill, N.C., – headquartered Aurora Sustainable Lands purchased over 160,000 acres of land in New Hampshire, mainly in Coos County. Their plans are to use the land for selling “carbon credits” to companies looking to offset their pollution footprints.
