LANCASTER — The Coos County Commission is proposing a 2025 county budget with an increase of 2.4 percent or $417,607 in the amount to be raised by taxes. The county delegation will hold a public hearing on the commission’s budget Friday, Dec. 13, at the North Country Resource Center on Route 3 in Lancaster at 10 a.m. The delegation will review the budget proposal and vote on a final budget in March.

The commission is presenting a total proposed 2025 budget of $48,329,310 for a 4 percent or $1.8 million decrease from the current 2024 budget. The reduction is attributed mainly to a decrease in federal American Recovery Plan Act funding.
