CORY BOOKER

Cory Booker brought his mother to Berlin City Hall to campaign with him on Mother’s Day. Carolyn Booker almost stole the show as she talked about her and her husband’s experience with discrimination. She said it has been a privilege to watch her son grow into leader. Cory Booker said the election is about “what will become of the American Dream” and spoke about how Berlin reminded him of Newark, N.J. — a city that is recovering from a struggling economy. Solving the problems of today, he said, will require a broader vision and everyone working together. After answering questions from the audience, Booker headed to Northland Restaurant and Dairy bar and bought ice cream for his staff.
