STARK — The body of a Maine man, missing for almost a year, was recovered in Stark Friday.

N.H. and Maine Law Enforcement authorities identified the body as that of Alex Jackson, 34, of Windham, Maine. Jackson went missing on approximately May 14, 2023. Joseph Chute, of Leeds, Maine, is currently charged by law enforcement before the Androscoggin County Superior Court with causing Mr. Jackson’s death in Maine. N.H. State Police and N.H Fish and Game, with assistance from Maine State Police, the Windham, Maine Police Department, and Maine Warden Service, conducted a search in Stark Friday and discovered the human remains and they were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Concord. An autopsy was conducted by Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Mitchell L. Weinberg and the remains were identified as those of Alex Jackson. The cause and manner of the man’s death are not being released.
