BERLIN – City Manager Patrick MacQueen Monday night questioned why Berlin and other local communities lost telephone service for over six hours Friday night. MacQueen said he understood the building of a fiber optic cable link through Pinkham Notch three years ago was supposed to eliminate the city losing telephone service when an accident occurs outside the city as it did Friday on Route 2 in Jefferson.
