BERLIN — The search for a site on which to build a recovery shelter in the city for those working to live a life free of drugs and alcohol may have found a home at what was once the site of the Berlin Medical Center.

City Manager Phillip L. Warren Jr. said at the city council meeting Monday that he recently toured the building at 60 Pleasant St., describing it as being in poor shape.
