LANCASTER — The public is welcome to the annual meeting of the Weeks State Park Association starting at 6 p.m. on Aug. 22, in the Great Room of the Summit House Museum at Weeks State Park. Refreshments will be served. Immediately following the brief meeting a program about the History of the White Mountain Garden Club presented by Cecilia Blewer will begin.

Did you know that it was Midwestern families who were the majority of the summer colony of this region a century ago? Indeed, they were actively recruited by an agent of the governor to buy farms and keep them operational. Their New Hampshire activities were regularly reported in The Chicago Tribune.
