Anyone paying attention to the world of electric vehicles will recognize the name BYD, which stands for Build Your Dreams, the Chinese EV maker that’s quickly dominating the market.

For the first time, Tesla has been overtaken in worldwide sales by BYD, posting record volume and profits. China is currently the leading EV market in sales. The U.S. is traditionally a very strong automotive market, but consumers here have been slow to adopt or respond to electric vehicles for several reasons, including our vast distances and climate extremes that take their toll on battery efficiency.
