I’m going to go out on a limb and assume there’s very few of us, if any, who enjoy the emotional roller coaster that is the dating scene. The nervous first (and second and third and…) dates are simply the worst. Aside from any “broccoli in the teeth” moments, your entire body feels like it is on high alert. Just writing about it this morning is giving me anxiety. And if it goes well, you are excited about seeing them again (sweaty palms notwithstanding) and learning more about them. It is this process that will slowly expose any awesome, lovable (or funky) traits and, worst case, deal-breakers.

When it comes to buying a home, as silly as it sounds when I’m writing it down, we don’t have as much time to get to know our home before making a huge decision in the purchase of it. We don’t have the luxury of “dating” our home for a couple months to see if we’re going to be a good fit. Some sellers have even started allowing buyers a night to stay in the home before purchase. I think this is a great step in the right direction, but all in all; it’s still a one-night-stand. We all know how those tend to turn out.
