More than 50 Kennett Middle School students and teachers took part in "Change of Heart: Creating a More Caring School Climate," presented by Search Institute. Topics that were covered at the one-day retreat held at the Echo Building in Conway included healthy relationships, diversity and tolerance, trust, a supportive school climate, adults who make positive differences in the lives of young people, plans for improving the school community, and the role of each person in preventing mean things from happening. The group will continue to meet once a month for ongoing training and will be sharing the strategies and concepts with other staff and students at the middle school.
