BARTLETT — The Red Parka Steakhouse & Pub in Glen, Sport Thoma and Attitash will host the 31st annual Red Parka Junior Challenge Race on Friday, Feb. 14. This is a free race held for middle school students from area schools.

Race time is 11 a.m. with two runs each on the recreational course.

In 1989, the first race featured just three schools and 37 students. Today, 14 schools and close to 200 racers compete for individual trophies for boys and girls as well as a team trophy, kept at the winning school for the year.

Last year’s winner — Lin-Wood Middle School — will be fighting to keep the trophy out of the hands of schools from North Conway, Gilford, Belmont, Kingswood, Bartlett and others.
