JACKSON — Quinn Brussel, 21, of San Luis Obispo, Calif., took top honors in the seventh annual blackout mountain race run at Black Mountain on Nov. 2. This year’s event, hosted by Run the Whites, attracted 36 runners for the 10K and 59 for the 5K races.

“We had perfect conditions — dry — and temps dipped into the 30s,” said Andrew Drummond, event organizer and founder of Ski The Whites, of the run which kicked off at sunset. “We had 95 hearty runners who all had a good time, or so they told me afterward.”
