Sen. Susan Collins condemned the Trump administration's policy of separating families at the U.S. border with Mexico, calling it “traumatizing” to children who are “innocent victims.” But as of Wednesday, Collins still hadn’t expressed support for a new bill designed to curb the practice.

“It is inconsistent with our American values to separate these children from their parents unless there is evidence of abuse or another very good reason,” said Sen Collins last Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”
