Rockhopper Races presented the first annual White Lake Ultra on May 5-6, and it was an epic adventure, according to six-hour White Mountain Miler Ashley Benes.

The rainstorm on Friday night required a quick course change by Ryan Welts and Kristina Folcik-Welts as they ran and cleaned up blow-downs and re-marked sections of the trail. The 24-hour runners began at 6 a.m. with the wind and were joined at noon by the six-hour runners.
