Thursday was cold and windy. The wind up on Mount Washington was over 100 mph for an extended period that day.

I had a low-level cold that had been infuriatingly persistent, but I wanted to get outside. I decided to go look for the first mountain flowers of spring on the old 0.9-mile Bald Knob Trail in the Ossipee Range.
