To the editor:

The nation and the world watched aghast at President Donald Trump’s performance at his midterm Republican convention in Dallas. His performance was capped by his leading a pledge of allegiance to himself, not the Constitution or the rule of law. In fact, he instructed the audience to “cheat like hell” in the coming midterms. The president of the United States asked his followers to break U.S. laws. Is this treason? It’s, at a minimum, a failure to fulfill his obligation as the nation’s chief law enforcement officer. I think it’s treason.
