To the editor:

Gov. Kelly Ayotte, who campaigned in the last election on keeping Massachusetts political influence out of New Hampshire, just held a VIP reception in Boston. Donors were asked to give up to $10,000 per couple and $2,500 per individual to help fund her election campaign this year.

Oh, please. Leonard and the usual Democrat sore losers who are clutching their pearls over a Boston fundraiser while ignoring the obvious: Kelly Ayotte is delivering results that keep New Hampshire from becoming another failing Massachusetts experiment. Yes, she raised money from successful people who like what she's doing—keeping taxes low, businesses booming, and families moving into New Hampshire, not fleeing it. That's called building a winning coalition, not "selling out." The alternative? Begging for small-dollar checks from the same out-of-state liberal donors who fund every Democrat while pushing policies that turned Massachusetts into a high-tax, high-regulation mess, with people and companies pouring across the border to escape it.

Ayotte's slogan was "Don't Mass Up New Hampshire"—meaning don't import Massachusetts-style income taxes, overregulation, crime leniency, and failed progressive experiments. It was never "never speak to anyone from Massachusetts" or "reject all their money while they vote with their feet to live here." Pragmatic governors court supporters wherever they are. Meanwhile, her Democratic opponents have taken plenty of Massachusetts cash too—often from the same "super-rich" crowd when it suits them.

This isn't "buying influence." It's donors backing a governor who's actually protecting the Granite State model: no broad-based income or sales tax, economic growth, safer streets, and school choice momentum. Under Ayotte, New Hampshire remains a magnet for opportunity while Massachusetts deals with the consequences of its own choices. If you think voting against Ayotte will "remind the super-rich NH isn't for sale," he's in for another disappointment in November. Granite Staters aren't buying the class-warfare script. They want results, not rhetoric—and Ayotte is giving them exactly that. Keep the attacks coming; they just remind voters why she won big before and will again. Live Free or Die doesn't mean "die from Democrat envy."
