My 80th birthday has come and gone. How did this happen? Born in 1946, my contemporaries and I are at the forefront of the Baby Boomers. Note the “Baby” part, not the Old People Boomers.

OK, my grandson keeps referring to me in a quite derogatory way as a “Boomer.” Until recently I considered being a Boomer a good thing. After all, we made quite a difference to the world. Well, maybe not me specifically but certainly the 1946-64 Baby Boomers who are getting more and more attention as we have become, while hard to believe, the elderly.
