Local community centers have evolved to include more activities for seniors. Volunteer Frann Ravid (left) gives instruction during the final stretch of the Halloween themed calisthenics program at Conway Parks and Recreation last fall. Exercises included “run away,” “dead bug,” “Jack’s o’ lantern’ and other cleverly named exercises. (JAMIE GEMMITI PHOTO)

CONWAY — Local community centers are evolving into places for adults as well as kids, especially active older adults from the Baby Boomer generation (those born 1946-64).

That is evident at Fryeburg’s new Recreation Center, which opened last fall;  the North Conway Community Center; Conway Recreation and Park’s new headquarters inside Kennett Middle School; and the Whitney Community Center in Jackson.
