JACKSON — Sgt. Mike Mosher, the newest member of the Jackson Police Department, is also the latest member of the force to complete and pass the Wilderness First Responder course taught by Stonehearth Open Learning Opportunities (SOLO) in Conway. Chief Chris Perley says this is a valuable tool in an officer’s tool belt, especially in rural New Hampshire.

“This intense, backcountry rescue program is internationally recognized as the ‘gold standard’ for emergency help in the outdoors,” Perley said said by phone on Friday. “We have an active population and sometimes they need help. This is part of our training doctrine's first step towards full EMT training here at the Jackson Police Department.
