FRYEBURG, Maine — According to an investigation recently completed by the Maine Attorney General, a Fryeburg police officer was justified in shooting a Massachusetts man who smashed into several cars during a chase and then threatened an officer with a knife in January.

At about 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 30, Fryeburg Police were alerted by Conway Police that a black pickup truck was coming from Conway to the state line in Fryeburg and was refusing to stop. Conway Police terminated the chase before the state line.
