FRYEBURG, Maine — At a public hearing May 7 on Fryeburg’s proposed municipal building — where the fire and police departments and town office could all be in one place — the actual cost to taxpayers emerged as the top concern.

While a proposed warrant article asks for $16 million to construct the 29,500-square-foot complex, other factors like bond terms, bid prices, project scope and grants will determine what Fryeburg property owners could end up paying.
