CONWAY — Forest experts told the Sun on Wednesday that they were taken by surprise when the governor in June vetoed a bill to protect the state's biomass plants from closure. Those experts and Sen. Jeb Bradley are now doing a full court press to have lawmakers override the veto.

They say if it isn't overridden next month, Gov. Chris Sununu's veto of Bradley's bill will lead to a host of calamities, including a loss of 900 jobs state wide, a decline of forest health and a loss of private land that's now available for recreational activities like snowmobiling.
