The rain hampered attendance at the first ever Fryeburg Community Jamboree last Saturday, but people still got the opportunity to play laser tag, bounce in inflatable houses and throw axes, among other activities. And despite the rain, the fireworks, as advertised, were sent skyward on Saturday night.
But the monsoon didn’t hit until Sunday. Fire Chief Andrew Dufresne said a microburst occurred at 3:30 p.m. Sunday and caused “quite a bit of tree and wire damage,” causing power outages in West and North Fryeburg.
