CONWAY — Not only is Kennett High getting a new neighbor but Continuum at North Conway’s Ridgeline Community development could become its primary heat source in the future. Ridgeline plans to implement a woodchip-burning system that can supply a large enough “thermal load” to heat multiple buildings including the high school, while reducing the school’s annual heating costs by 10-20 percent.

Consultant Shawn Bergeron of Bergeron Technical Services of Conway, who is representing Continuum, which is developing the Ridgeline property off of Eagles’ Way (the road to the high school) met with the Conway School on May 28 to see if there might be interest in the heating system and followed up on Monday night. The woodchip-fueled boiler facility will be located in the 4,350-square-foot heating plant in the center of the Ridgeline development.
