CONWAY — A proposal to tear down the 224-year-old Homestead Restaurant building at 1921 White Mountain Highway in North Conway and put up an auto parts store has generated a slew of comments online and elsewhere.

The Conway Planning Board is scheduled to meet April 14 to begin site-plan review on a proposal by Fram Real Estate Investment Co. to demolish the red-painted wooden building to make way for a 7,382-square-foot AutoZone store.
