CONWAY — The Outdoor Spaces Group of the MWVAFC is proud to announce the launch of the Mount Washington Valley Age-Friendly Walkable Trails App, an iOS mobile application designed to enhance the outdoor experience for individuals of all ages and abilities. This user-friendly app is set to transform how residents and visitors explore the most accessible areas of natural beauty of the Mount Washington Valley.
Richard Allmendinger, along with members of the Outdoor Spaces Group, spent a year volunteering their time to develop the app. Allmendinger is a structural geologist and erofessor emeritus of earth and atmospheric sciences at Cornell University. With decades of experience writing computer programs and mapping apps for fellow geologists, Allmendinger has dedicated his career to developing innovative solutions that promote inclusivity and environmental stewardship. Locally, Richard has created the Chocorua Lakes Conservancy Map and White Mountain Hiker Presi, Pemi and Moosi iOS Apps. He also leads guided geology hikes for the Chocorua Lake Conservancy.
