William James Nason of Freedom, N.H., born Aug. 31, 1942, in Gray Maine, previously of North Reading and Reading, Mass., passed away peacefully at his home on Sept. 23, 2017, surrounded by his loving wife of 53 years Pauline, his daughters, sisters, grandchildren and friends. William is the son of the late Jesse William and Mary Bernadine Nason also of Freedom.

He served as a North Reading police officer for more than 25 years, retiring in 1994 with the rank of senior patrolman, badge No. 1. He also owned and operated a landscaping company for more than 50 years.
