Robert Carl Smith, 90, of Hales Location, N.H., died peacefully at Hanover Hill Health Care Center in Manchester, N.H., on Sept. 19, 2017, surrounded by his children.

He was born in Cambridge, Mass., on July 13, 1927, the son of Robert C. and Margaret F. Smith. He grew up in Swampscott, Massachusetts, graduating from Swampscott High School in 1945.
