She was born Oct. 31, 1946, in South Hiram, Maine, to Harry and Marguerite (Finneault) Huntress. Jean and twin sister Joan were the youngest of four children. She attended school in the South Hiram and Fryeburg, Maine area, including the Fryeburg Academy, and later earned her associate degree in psychology while simultaneously raising three young children, Michael, Andrea and Kristi.
