With great respect, the family of Mr. Harlan Roger Kennard of Newark, Del., is announcing the end of his life journey. He passed away Sept. 11, 2017 at the age of 64, ending a two-year confrontation with colorectal cancer.

Harlan was born to parents Georgia Mae Clay and Elbert Edward Kennard Jr. on Dec. 25, 1952, in Wilmington, Del. He grew up in the middle of five children and graduated from Delaware High School in 1970. He went on to graduate with a Fine Arts degree from the University of Delaware where he played baseball and football.
