Dorothy Ruth Washburn Sherpey Wood

With great sadness, the family of Dorothy Ruth Washburn Sherpey Wood share that she passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, Sept. 9, 2017, in North Conway, N.H.

She was born in Saratoga, N.Y., on Sept. 29, 1927. During her early life, she lived in upstate New York, where she grew up on a farm with her mother Sara and sister Josephine. She played the saxophone in the high school band and was active in 4H. She attended and graduated from Hartwick College in Oneonta, N.Y., in 1948.
