The Steinwinter Supercargo truck sprang from the imagination of German engineer Manfred Steinwinter. (COURTESY PHOTO)

In the world of trucking, there are conventional cabs and cab-overs. Conventional cabs place the driver behind the engine and the hood in front of the passenger cab.

Cab-overs or COEs (Cab Over Engine) place the driver and cab above the engine. These trucks are easy to identify — they’re taller and have a relatively flat front.
