The email came around 8 p.m. saying the date and location had been switched. I was a little disappointed, but with a tinge of relief, knowing I could sleep until my normal work-wakeup time and not have to deal with navigating Boston traffic with my car and trailer in tow.

Many years back, a good friend of mine did some acting and modeling, getting parts in commercials and working as an extra on a few movie and television show sets. As a member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG), he was familiar with behind-the-scenes activities and would send me notices when production companies were looking for specific vehicles. My specialty car selection is frequently changing, so I eventually got on the casting company’s email list and would respond when I had a vehicle that might fit their needs.
