To The Editor:

There is currently a debate in Congress over the “Fair Tax Act of 2025.” Engaging in this debate are those opposing the Act; accused of getting their information from “Fake News.” Those favoring the Act, (the Trumplicans) claim their information comes from the current guy. The Trumplicans claim the economy during the current guy’s first administration was the best in history. There is no evidence to support that allegation. An analysis of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act shows the wealthy received the maximum benefit, while a few small business owners and a slim majority of the upper middle class saw a small benefit from the 2017 law.
