To The Editor:

All of our politicians act like ostriches with their heads in the sand. They ignore the ticking time bomb of our national debt. It took our entire history as a nation for the debt to reach $5.5 trillion dollars by 2000. In the 25 years since, it has reached $38 trillion ($38,000,000,000,000). The size of that number is almost incomprehensible. It has caused the price of gold to increase by 50% from last year as the world loses confidence in the U.S. dollar. No one in government seems to care!
