To The Editor:

Progressives and advocates of the “living Constitution” keep telling us we are going to lose our Democracy. Since we are only a Democracy in the fevered minds of those who don’t like our Constitution as written and amended over time. Progressives don’t think the people should be sovereign, they think government and the governors are sovereign and the elites are certainly better equipped to control the economy, education, morality, society, religion, speech, thoughts, and property than the people are. Not to make too fine a point of it, but we are a Republic with democratic elements, not a Democracy.
